Happy Monday!

I am super behind in my blogging, as my summer was full with kids on summer break, and moving from Chilliwack, back to Langley. So, I have made it my mission to get my blogs done!

As you all know, I am a women’s portrait artist, photographing gorgeous women around Langley, the Fraser Valley and Vancouver. However, I LOVE to photograph engagements and weddings. I LOVE love!

This beautiful engagement session I photographed over the summer! I met up with Katie and Will in Fort Langley, BC for their engagement session. I love the opportunity to shoot engagement sessions and weddings! Thank you to Katie and Will for choosing me to photograph your engagement and wedding this summer. I just love these two! Katie and Will’s engagement session was featured over on Brenda’s Wedding Blog as well! (Thanks Brenda!)

It was an ordinary day, I finally launched my new site called Beautifully Different. I have always had the dream, and the vision to help all women feel beautiful! It just took me a few years to get clear on what I really wanted to do. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE being a photographer. I love taking photos. I LOVE specializing in portraits for women! I just realized there is more to what I do than just photography. And so my vision for my life  and my business became clear! I realized after months of self discovery, that I am one woman on a mission to make every woman feel beautiful! And so, I launched my site. Deep breath, fingers crossed. Sigh of relief. I did it! I did it!

After I launched, a wonderful friend and fellow boudoir photographer Leslie she said to me, Cathy you have to share this with others. And so I did. I took a leap. Stepped outside my comfort zone, and hit send!  I sent out a little blurb on me, and my manifesto. And  lucky for me, somebody listened, and responded back.  That was Tiffany, from Shaw Community TV Chilliwack!  She wanted to do a story on my life as a wife, mom and boudoir photographer. Suddenly my ordinary day, usually filled with laundry, cleaning and folding. Became really exciting! This email, and response put a  HUGE smile on my face, and a kick in my step! I had an opportunity to share my story and my vision with others! So, a filming date was set! Everything was in place! Here is a link, and the instructions to view the video!

Below, is the outcome of the fun afternoon! I hope you enjoy! Thank you everybody who helps me on a daily basis to never give up, and keep sharing with the women of the world that they are GORGEOUS! I want to say a special thank you to Jessica of Trove Vintage for her help, and for being my model for the afternoon. I took some fresh headshots for her during our time together! You will want to check out her amazing business, Trove Vintage. She is wonderful! I am totally looking forward to our special shoot coming up later this summer!

Just an update to share that Lise was live on Breakfast Television Vancouver this morning talking about living with Alopecia.

I think she did a great job, and I am proud to know her. I also want to say thank you to Lise for choosing me to capture your beauty!

I love how she is living life to the fullest!

Here is a photograph of the latest Best Health Magazine.

For over a year I waited patiently to see this magazine with a half page of my beautiful client Lise inside it! She is one of the reasons for changing my whole site.

To me, Lise is the perfect example of Beautifully Different.

She rocks her look!

On page 74, a half page image of Lise on a two page spread all about her, and living with her alopecia diagnosis.

She came to me to capture her beauty. I loved meeting Lise, and of course photographing her! I took her to a beautiful place new my home. The sunlight was amazing, and I just loved this session!

In the magazine Lise shares with Best Health Magazine how after her photo session with me,  she had a whole new sense of self!

A photo session is powerful, and truly can help you feel beautiful!

And there she is, on the left. I am so thankful to her, and her beautiful story.

When she first walked up to me, I said to myself, she is so amazingly beautiful. She has the perfectly shaped head! I couldn’t picture her any other way!

And there is my very first photo credit.

It has been very exciting! Thank you Lise for sharing your beauty, and your story with me, and with the world. You are the whole package, and you are rocking your beautifully different!

I was totally honoured to be guest author on Totally Rad Action Blog yesterday.  To see the blog, click here. If you do know TRA, and you are a photographer, you should. I absolutely rely on their wonderful actions for my boudoir images. LOVE them! I was able to share my feeling on time management. You may remember me talking about shooting a session for the lovely Miss Tamara way back in February. Well, she did this session to write about her experience behind the lens for their first issue. Tamara wrote a beautiful piece about boudoir photography, and I think you all should grab a coffee and have a read. Flip through, it is delightful! I love the section with fun tweets, and people to follow on twitter! Really cool!

I was wrong. They liked my work. However, the editor was looking for a very specific client. After speaking with the writer of the article, I submitted photos and stories of two of my past clients. One was too young, and one had a great story, but not right for this particular article. Fair enough!

A bonus to this story: The editor really liked something about one of the clients. They loved her story so much, that they are hoping to feature her story, and my images in a summer edition of the magazine. (My fingers and toes are crossed for this!)

Today, my name, my company name and a few of my quotes were printed in May 2010 “The Love Your Body Issue” of Best Health Magazine. Couldn’t have planned that better myself! It was a very exciting feeling to see it in print FINALLY after months of prep for it!!

Just want to let you all know. Don’t give up on your dreams. Dream BIG.

Finally a chance to post a few sneak peeks for a most amazing session that took place last Saturday! Tamara wrote the very first article (October 2008) about my boudoir photography back when I first got started in 2008. I promised her that when she moved back to BC from California that I would be sure to shoot her session. Finally we got the chance to meet this weekend and had a great time together! The images are for her to share in a brand new magazine called Delish (a collaboration of three women; Tamara, Emma and Cynthia) which will arrive this Spring. Be sure to add yourselves to their mailing list! It is going to be great! Tamara will be writing an article on Boudoir Photography, and her experience behind the camera lens. And, she will be including a few interviews of some of my past clients and their experience with me. So, when that comes out I will be sure to share a link to it!

Tamara, also has Arthritis, and she has had it since she was six years old. She is 38 years old now. Married, with a son. He is now four months old (he was born early at 28 weeks!) I think Tamara looks amazing! Don’t you!?!

I don’t know if you know who Dr. Greene is? Well Tamara is also sharing her experience of living with pain of Arthritis as a guest blogger over there. We also took a couple of headshots for over there while she was here. To read her her posts, please click here.

She also has started another blog. You should check it out!

Tamara is a shining example to all of those living with any sort of condition! She doesn’t let Arthritis get in her way! She does so many amazing things, and she continues to inspire me that is for sure!
